Solicitor Ritu Sethi wins business category at the First Women Awards 2008

The 2008 First Women Awards has announced high-flying solicitor Ritu Sethi, of The Sethi Partnership Solicitors WINNER in the Business Services category. The First Women Awards in association with Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets were founded in 2004 by the CBI (The Voice of Business) and Real Business magazine and celebrates women that are trailblazers and leading pioneers in business and those who have gone from strength to strength to achieve the position they are in today.

Having qualified from Bristol in 1988 with her LLB Honours, and as a solicitor in 1990, Ritu Sethi set up The Sethi Partnership Solicitors in West London in May 1994. She quickly began to achieve outstanding results for clients and went on to set up the first one-stop property shop in Harrow. After facing many hurdles along her business career, Ritu's firm began to grow with numbers of staff and clients increasing. The firm advise on a wide range of legal services from Criminal Law; Employment; Business; Immigration to Divorce and Child Care, Wills and Probate. In May 1999, Sethi Partnership Solicitors was the first legal practice to be awarded Investors in People and Lexcel-The Law Society's practice management quality standard and is now often used as a role model firm for other law firms.

In November 2000, Ritu Sethi won the Asian Business Owner of the Year Award and in 2007 was a finalist for the Professional of the Year at the Asian Achievers Awards and the Professional Excellence Jewel Award .Ritu Sethi, married to Sudhir Sethi, Director of Abbacus Computers Ltd and mother -of- two teenage children is also a chat show host of T.V programme 'Chai with Ritu.'

The Awards Ceremony took place on Wednesday June 11th at the Marriott Grosvenor Square with more then 500 of the UK's most pioneering entrepreneurs and businesswomen attending.
